Our Message on COVID-19

COVID-19

Dear Patients,

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to move at a rapid pace. This is a stressful time for everyone.

The College of Chiropractors of Ontario has advised all chiropractors to immediately suspend all non-essential chiropractic care until at least the first week of April. We are following the lead of the Canadian Public Health authorities at this critical time.

Only acute/emergency chiropractic care can be provided. Therefore, all regular non-essential care will need to be rescheduled.

However, chiropractors may receive patients who have suffered from an injury/trauma or those dealing with incapacitating pain in order to provide an effective therapeutic option.

We recognize that some patients suffer from chronic pain and are seeking treatment to manage their condition to prevent a severe flare-up. In some cases, such a patient may be considered an emergency/ acute patient as the withdrawal of care might lead to an unacceptable deterioration of their condition.

The clinic will remain open with limited hours. If you are in significant pain, please call the office. We are here to help. We will be screening calls very carefully and only seeing patients who fall into the above-mentioned categories. This is extremely important to avoid all non-essential patient contact and to reduce the potential spread of Covid-19 as much as possible.

In support of the Ministry of Health’s ongoing efforts to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, we will be actively screening all patients (Fever, new onset of cough, difficulty breathing, travel history etc…). Please refer to the Patient screening questionnaire prior to calling the office as we will be reviewing these questions with you prior to making an appointment.

In addition, patients are reminded that the practice of social distancing will be followed at all times where feasible. This includes increased spacing of chairs in our waiting room.

Other measures include enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of all ‘touch surfaces’ and equipment throughout the clinic. This includes all door handles, desk surfaces, point of sale terminal, keyboards, treatment tables/ headrests, faucets, light switches etc…We have also removed all ‘soft’ items that cannot be cleaned easily (books and magazines).

At this time of great uncertainty, all of us here at the Fairview Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Clinic must try to provide care expertly as well as conscientiously, to help reduce the spread of this potentially fatal virus. We apologize for any inconvenience this brings and thank you for your understanding. We will do everything we can to resume your treatment as soon as possible. This is a very fluid situation. Please call the office to rebook your appointment.

For anyone who has any questions or would like a call at home, please do not hesitate to call the office and request to speak to your provider.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide you with ongoing updates, as they become available. We encourage everyone to visit the Canada’s public Health website and the Government of Ontario’s website for up-to-date information.

Please check your emails for updates on when we will resume our regular patient services.

Yours in Health,

Drs. Chris and Lauren and all of us at Fairview Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Clinic
